The Freedom Center for Social Justice (FCSJ) is a culture-shifting organization committed to the growth, safety and empowerment of marginalized populations.  Our vision is a world where equal protections and opportunities exist for all. Through advocacy, community education, and faith-based organizing, we are committed to providing support that opens doors, raises awareness and creates life-giving change.

Key Program Areas

ADVOCACY

The Freedom Center for Social Justice is involved in civil rights and social justice efforts nationwide, with a particular focus on the Southern states. We are currently engaged in the planning and organizational efforts of several key campaigns, including the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, which aims to build a broad and deep national moral movement – rooted in the leadership of poor people and reflecting the great moral teachings – to unite our country from the bottom up.

DO NO HARM PLEDGE

We are asking people to commit to do no harm through interpretation of Holy Text or other religious writings. This includes harm caused on the basis of sexual orientation, gender expression, race or faith tradition.

SIGN THE PLEDGE

TFAAN

The Transgender Faith and Action Network (TFAAN) is a collective of trans people of faith who recognize the value of being connected to one another and providing mutual support. TFAAN began as TransFaith in Color, a collaborative effort among trans people of various faith traditions to create more welcoming and affirming houses of worship. The goal of TFAAN is to connect trans people and allies under the shared goals of learning, networking, healing, and empowerment.

YES, YOU CAN GO CAMPAIGN

This campaign serves as a direct affirmation for transgender people to use public restrooms of their choice and that align with their gender identity and expression. By signing up, businesses, schools and communities of faith are making a long-term commitment to support the safety of transgender and gender non-conforming people who frequent their establishments.
