Join The Freedom Center for Social Justice as we travel to Washington, DC to support the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival at the Global Day of Solidarity and Sending Forth Call to Action Mass Rally.

The Poor People’s Campaign is uniting tens of thousands of people across the country to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation and the nation’s distorted morality. Our NC bloc will be joining in solidarity with the Poor People’s Campaign on June 23, 2018 as a part of a national movement of direct action against oppressive political, economic, and social structures.

The Freedom Center for Social Justice is a southern-based LGBT organization, founded in 2009. We are committed to serving our trans, POC, elder, youth, working class, and faith communities. Our mission is accomplished through educational programming, community partnerships, and advocacy. We serve with care, compassion, and celebration.

On Friday, June 22nd, we will depart from Charlotte, NC to arrive in Washington, DC the following morning, July 23rd. Our bloc will participate in a number of activities including the mass rally, march, and cultural arts. In the late afternoon, we will get on the bus to arrive back in Charlotte that evening.

It is our goal to avoid arrest and injury while on this trip. Just in case though we ask that you provide your legal name, birth date, emergency contact, medications, and special accommodations needed so that we can support you as best as possible.

Registration is $25 for students and seniors and $50 for non-students/seniors.

The registration cost includes round-trip travel from Charlotte to DC, a t-shirt, and snacks and beverages on the bus (participants are responsible for buying their own meals while on the road and in DC, anticipated cost $15-$30).
